8 Is Alright~Michigan Child Photographer

With new years come new ideas, plans and expectations.  Back in January I plotted out many for myself but sometimes life has other plans.  After a much needed break where I spent lots of time curled up with good books, hanging with my family and well, not being very productive, I am ready to tackle those lists and feed my creative soul.

First up is a long delayed post of a few images I took of my son when he turned 8 back in December.  This boy is my laughter.  Goofy, sweet and sometimes (a lot of times) wild.  He is so special to me.

Morning ~ Oxford Michigan Child Photographer

There is nothing that makes me embrace an early morning like gorgeous morning light.  I have spent many mornings recently driving the mom taxi and enjoying those cool morning sunrises and decided to take advantage with a little impromptu photo session.  Now, I absolutely adore the warm glow of evening light but the cool blues of morning have captured my heart as well.

There’s magic in this garden

The spell was broken. My uncle learned to laugh, and I learned to cry. The secret garden is always open now. Open, and awake, and alive. If you look the right way, you can see that the whole world is a garden.

5/52 First

This week we celebrated the birthday of my oldest child.  Nine years ago Tuesday my whole life changed.  My son was born and in that single complicated, life altering, heart wrenching, magical moment, I became a mom.  I will always be grateful that the good Lord thought me worthy to be the mother, teacher and guardian of these special little people.  It is the best thing that I ever did and will ever do.

This week’s theme in my 52 on Friday group is I love faces and I thought it fit so nicely to photograph my newly nine year old for the project.  It stared off as it generally does with boys this age and dissovled to silliness quickly enough.

It wasn’t long before the others wanted in the fun.  Here’s a couple from the blooper reel;)

Don’t forget to visit the very talented Jobrina and see what she has captured this week:)

3/52 Morning lullabies

This week in my 52 on Friday’s group, the challenge was to photograph anything red, pink or a combination of the 2.  I had a few different ideas but this morning they all went out the window when baby girl donned her red pettiskirt.  Half naked babies, fluffy ruffled skirts, and morning light… what a beautiful way to start out this morning.

By now I hope that you can embrace my penchant for the imperfect.  Grain, shadow, limb chops and blur are alright with me when it fits the moment.  It’s perfectly imperfect.

Now don’t forget to pop over to Rene’s blog to see how she interpreted the theme:)
